What is If You Build It?
If You Build It (IYBI) is a weekend long escape where we will utilize our combined knowledge and experience in producing events to build a physical manifestation of our extended community of family and friends. Think Family Reunion x Summer Camp x Music Festival.
When and where is the event?
The inaugural event will be taking place from September 14-16, 2018 at Camp Ramah in the Poconos.
What is an ambassador?
IYBI Ambassadors are the friends and family that we have asked to help us build our community. We may be biased, but we think that these folks are the cats pajamas... the bees knees... frankly, they're the tits. Many of our ambassadors have been part of the IYBI conversations from the beginning, they understand the community we have set out to create. Ambassadors will help lead each cabin group throughout the weekend, and we are excited to bring everyone we love and everyone they love together.
Who is invited to If You Build It? Why aren't there advertisements?
YOU are invited to If You Build It! That means you are either our friend or one of our friend's friends... congratulations, you've made the cut.
We are not advertising because our goal is to keep If You Build It within our greater extended network of friends and family. We are relying on ambassadors to continue spreading the word and recruit for the home team.
Let me ask you this... what won't your weekend look like? Great food, exciting performances, non-stop laughs, a bunch of fools dancing like no one is watching and a little friendly competition.
Your weekend won't look like Fyre Festival...
What will my weekend look like at If You Build It?
Scheduling information, including arrival/departure details and some weekend activity descriptions, will be shared closer to the event. We are looking to IYBI attendees to help us plan the weekend so if you want to be involved please fill our program survey to help add to the weekend schedule.
What will the schedule of events be?
All meals will be provided for attendees in a setting that we can all eat together. We'll have a dinner on Friday night, three meals on Saturday and two meals on Sunday. Beer and wine will be provided for all that are over 21 for the weekend. There will be food available for all dietary restrictions, please let us know what those may be at ifyoubuilditfestival@gmail.com
What will I eat and drink?
Where will I stay?
Camp Ramah has over thirty bunk house cabins that will be our housing for the weekend, everyone will get a bed. BYO sleeping bag/linens and pillow! Many of the cabins sleep fourteen guests so ambassadors that register groups of this size will have a dedicated cabin.
There are several other options available for families with small children and anyone looking for more private accommodations outside of bunk house style cabins (these accommodations will be at an increased fee). Please contact us directly at ifyoubuilditfestival@gmail.com to discuss options.
Specific bed assignments will be distributed upon arrival. Please send any questions or requests to ifyoubuilditfestival@gmail.com
How do I get there?
There will be parking for all who want to drive, and a carpool program will be put together. Stay tuned for more information on shuttles from NYC, and perhaps from Boston based upon demand. The address of Camp Ramah in the Poconos is:
2618 Upper Woods Road
Lakewood, PA 18439
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed on premises at Camp Ramah. Woof...
How much do tickets cost?
The price is $180 for anyone aged 10+. This price includes accommodations, food & drink, and an awesome weekend of fun and friends. Register for If You Build It and purchase your ticket here.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes! If You Build It is a family-friendly experience and all are welcome. Children ages 3-10 will be $100, and children ages 2 and under may attend for free. Children of all ages should be registered. Details for registering your children can be found on the Registration page.
Will I need money?
As long as you've purchased a ticket, no money is needed for anything!
So, what should I bring?
Don't forget to bring a towel! But pack a couple other things too... We will send an email with a recommended packing list closer to the event.
What happens if the weather is awful?
We'll have a great time!
Barring a hurricane or extreme weather event, Camp Ramah is very well setup for poor weather, with minimal negative impact on the weekend. All activities can easily move inside and accommodate all attendees.
